Hey. How are you? It's been a long while since ive posted something new. You've prolly figured out that i'm done with the blog. I figured it would be in good taste for me to post a formal good- bye. Initially i wasnt sure if i was really done or if i was just taking a break. I'm certain that i've lost interest in LP. I made this blog out of boredom, just for kicks. I never really intended for it to be this nearly two year excursion.

Music is emotion, it's personality. It's an extension of our feelings, our thoughts, our actions. I think i made this blog to kinda-sorta introduce myself to you and all the other folks that have been here. Many of the songs on LP make me happy and inspire me. I shared them cause i figured they might do the same for you.

I got a lot out of Las Palmas. When i think back on it it makes me feel good. I would geek out when i found a song that i couldnt wait to share. Kinda lame but 'eh.

Thanks for everything. I mean it. I'd check the views on the blog and it was awesome to see that LP had 'regulars' all around the world. Big ups for all the support. I really appreciate it. I dont think you'll realize that you allowed me be a part of something worthwhile. So again, thanks.

There were a few thoughts i wanted to share with you but i cant remember what they were. I'll tell you about last Saturday. My good friend, Luis got married in Downtown Los. It was a very nice and intimate ceremony. Many of my friends were there and it was wonderful to be apart of such a joyous occasion. Afterward Lamija and i went to eat in Boyle Heights at small Mexican joint called Guisados. It's located on the corner of Cesar Chavez Blvd and St. Louis. You wont recognize anything on their menu unless you're Hispanic. They dont serve the stereotypical food that you find at Taco Bell and Del Taco. It's very unique, authentic Mexican cuisine. If you're ever there make sure you get a cup of the home made Horchata. I swear it has crack in it. Later that night we went to the wedding reception/party. It was super fun. Lots and lots of dancing. A bunch of my friends from high school were there and it's great that 4 years after we graduated there's still no love lost. Super congratulations to Luis And Stefany!!

Lately, the hardest part of each post has been finding the right image. I love art and photography so posting the right image is almost as important as posting good music. If you know of any photographers or artists that i should check out leave a comment.
This post is long overdue. i just haven't been in the mood to blog of late. I haven't been listening to much music lately so that might be why.
My spring break is this week. So far it's been good. On Monday night i got to see Hanni El Khatib and Rumspringa for free at the Bootleg. Both sets were awesome. A song and a half into Hanni's set i realized that Rock n' Roll is not dead, it's alive and well. I recorded some of their sets. I'll upload the footage onto the youtube soon. I went to the L.A. Art Walk tonight. As always there was an abundance of gorgeous women in Downtown. Lots of black spandex and heals. Being a guy, there can never be enough women in black spandex and heals. Oh yeah, the exhibits were good too.
If you've never been, the Art Walk takes place on the third Thursday of every month in Downtown Los. The galleries are free. It covers a couple of blocks but Spring St. is where most of the action takes place.
A heads up: The Flyball is this Saturday. There's an old flyer posted in the middle of this page on the right side with the location and contact info. Sunday night is the opening of MOCA's street art exhibit. It's supposed to be a really big event with lots of famous artists involved from around the world. i will definitely be there.

Today was a great day. The weather was near perfect. With the exception of the wind, it felt like a early June day. Figured i'd take the day off from work and just bike through Los. i ate a bunch of good food (Cantor's Deli on Fairfax & Machos Taco's on Vermont). I swear the only thing better than living in L.A. is actually being from here. I'm very grateful to God for this opportunity and blessing. It's funny though, a few hours back i was sitting on my friend's toilet (thank you Yamaj for letting me crash, again) and i realized that soon enough something'll happen that'll take me off this cloud i'm on and put my feet back down on the ground. I'm fine with that. I figure that in itself is Life. You hold on to the bueno for as long as you can and brace your self for when the sour stuff comes. And then you repeat.

I wanna give a special shout out to my buddy Josemar. Happy Birthday!!! Josemar's an old friend and has been a supporter of LP from the get go. He's a big music head. Today's electonic section is dedicated to him. I've tried my best to post tracks that he'd like.

I dont understand why sometimes, what we want so much, we're so scared to work towards. I once read a quote about inertia. I cant remember it exactly but it had something to do with overcoming inertia: getting started, taking the first steps. It's definitely the hardest part. Dunno why though. I cant tell if it's cause of the fear of failure. I dont think it is. I hate going through the learning process but i dont think that's it either. Laziness? Definitely but there's more to it. I think i have commitment issues. I'm not sure what i want to do with my life so i end up doing nothing. It's like not getting with a girl cause your worried that the next girl you meet will be better looking. The downer is most of the time that next girl doesnt show and by then the last girl's already gone.

Last week Bhaj told me that my blog has turned into "just a bunch of videos" and that i need to start writing again. The reason i stopped writing was cause i wanted this blog to be about the music rather then me or my opinions. Also, i'm not that comfortable talking about myself or projecting my views on others and i felt that i was doing that whenever i wrote. But Bhaj is right, the blog has become very bland and lacks personality. So im gonna start writing again. I'll try and make it an interesting read, at the very least entertaining. Hopefully, this'll give you more to look forward to. Las Palmas will always be a music first blog, everything else is just more candy in the pinata.

It's been a really long time since ive been able to do a post alone or at night. There's something about the night that's so refreshing. My thoughts come out from behind the walls and crawl out from underneath floors of my mind. I've been nocturnal since i was young. Staying up allows me to make some sense of my day. It's easier for me to organize my thoughts and emotions. Kind of like windshield wipers on a rainy day. You swipe everything to the side and just look straight ahead. It's a very lively feeling.
