We live to learn.

I'm just gonna continue from where i left off in the last post. To make a long story short, Corrine had introduced her then-boss to Daft Punk and taken him to Daft Punk's last show in Las Vegas on Halloween 2007. Obviously, he fell in love with the duo. Her then-boss is the agent of the producer and director of 'Tron: Legacy'. If you enjoy the movie's soundtrack, which, if you're human, and capable of any degree of human thought, you should, than make sure you give Mark and Corrine a circle clap. So that's what happened on Friday night. On Saturday i got a job. On Sunday i worked my first shift and than quit right afterwards. It wasnt that it was bad, i just didnt feel that i'd be moving forward.

Tonight is THE FLYBALL @ The Grandstar Jazz Club in downtown L.A. Chinatown to be exact. 21 +. Be there. I'll be working the door so be sure to say 'hi' if you're there. For more info go to

Last week i randomly stumbled upon a British comedy show, 'The Inbetweeners'. It's super funny. Hilarious. I finshed two seasons in 3 days. My friend's that i've shared it with are hooked. You'd be giving yourself a present if you watch the show. It would be like cutting off your finger if you didnt. And i'm not exaggerating. I met a guy who didnt watch the show and once he found out how great it is he cut off his finger. So watch it.

x + y

Yo. Well, i'll tell you about last weekend. Friday night, Dk and i went out to the Avalon in Hollyhood, to see LA Riots spin. They weren't that great. Just about every song and every build up were the same. The crowd was kool, not many raver's but mostly cluber's. We spent the first two hours there talking to this really nice couple, Mark and Corinne. Turns out they're kinda responsible for Daft Punk doing the soundtrack for 'Tron: Legacy'. I'll continue this in the next post. Gotta go do some work for this weeks Flyball at The Grandstar Jazz Club.

I sit inside wishing that i was outside.

Hola. Hope you guys have had a good weekend. Or are having a good weekend, depending on how you feel towards Sunday's. Dont really have much to share so tonights post is gonna be about the origins of Levi's jeans. I figure there's a ton of stuff in our society that's super common yet we really dont know the story behind them. I'm just gonna copy and paste off of wikipedia so if it's not accurate take it up with them. Have a good week.

Jacob Davis was a tailor who frequently purchased bolts of cloth made from hemp from Levi Strauss & Co.'s wholesale house. After one of Davis' customers kept purchasing cloth to reinforce torn pants, he had an idea to use copper rivets to reinforce the points of strain, such as on the pocket corners and at the base of the button fly. Davis did not have the required money to purchase a patent, so he wrote to Strauss suggesting that they go into business together. After Levi accepted Jacob's offer, on May 20, 1873, the two men received U.S. Patent 139,121 from the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The patented rivet was later incorporated into the company's jean design and advertisements. Contrary to an advertising campaign suggesting that Levi Strauss sold his first jeans to gold miners during the California Gold Rush (which peaked in 1849), the manufacturing of denim overalls only began in the 1870s.
Levi Strauss started the business at the 90 Sacramento Street address in New York. He next moved the location to 62 Sacramento Street then 63 & 65 Sacramento Street. By changing the location of the store the company began to become more successful. Levi got the idea for the jeans, then referred to as "waist overalls," by Jacob Davis, one of Levi's regular customers. He said that by placing "metal rivets at the points of strain- pocket corners, and at the base of the button fly. The two men got together and got a patent for their idea and this is how the jean was invented.

The Hood Internet - I've done a feature on these guys before, but they have a lot of great, new material out so it makes sense to do it again. Pretty much, THI is a duo from the Midwest who are experts at mashing hip hop and rap with indie and electo/ambient music. I dont see how any one could not enjoy their music.

5 years ago i used to wonder where i'd be in 5 years. Now that i'm here i dont know what to make of it.

Kinda having trouble getting my thoughts together right now. I know what i wanna type about, just dunno exactly what point i'm trying to make. Or even if i'm tryna make a point. Or maybe i'm just stating the obvious. Dunno.
In life we're always tryna get to a certain 'destination', somewhere we'd like to be in our lives. And sometimes, we get so caught up in getting to where we wanna be that we miss out on everything that passes us by. Or everything that we pass by. It's like being on the bus and only looking straight ahead, through the front window, just worrying about getting 'there'. You end up of missing out on all the life that's taking place to your left and right. And maybe if you turn your head every once and again you'd see something that'da make you smile, like a girl or a dad chasing his kid. Or you'd learn something, like the name of a street or that 'lavanderia' means 'laundry mat'. Occasionally you'll see something that makes you get off the bus, it makes you forget about where you're tryna get to. After checking out that stop you might get back on the bus or you might realize that where you're going isnt really where you want to be after all. You might've found something better or just learned something about where you wanted to go.
I trip out on life. Often, the way it works leaves me itching my head with a raised eyebrow. The unexpectedness of it. I mean, you have it all figured out and then, out of the blue it switches up on you. It doesnt necessarily have to be big, drastic events. And it can be good and/or bad. I like that. It makes living a lot more interesting. Life's better with spontaneity. It makes me excited to find out where i'm gonna be in the future. At the same time though, i dont care about getting there. The bus ride there is so interesting that i dunno if i even wanna get there. But than again, you could say you never get 'there', that you're always going from one 'there' to another 'there'.
I still dunno what im trying to get to, but something minuscule yet really big (i know this is a contradiction of sorts) happened yesterday. It was bueno and unexpected, though i did plan on it happening eventually. It just happened unexpectedly and without me being involved. And the outcome was better than i'd pondered up. Just kinda tripped me out cause if you had asked a couple hours earlier i wouldve told you it wasnt gonna happen. It reminded me that life can surprise you in so many different ways.
If you cant already tell, it's left me stumped. Stumped like Paul Bunyan lol. Anyways, my brain hurts and i'm muy tired and mucho hungry. Have a great weekend.
One last thing, Super Gracias to DK and BAKIR!!!
